“Cargils Food City: Supermarket Sweep” is an interactive Unity-based browser game created as a promotional campaign for the 2023 Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival in Sri Lanka. Designed for nationwide engagement, the game allowed users to experience a fast-paced supermarket race, collecting virtual items for a chance to win valuable daily prizes.

My Responsibilities as Project Manager

  • Led end-to-end project planning and execution

  • Managed a cross-functional team of developers, designers, and QA testers

  • Ensured timely delivery, quality control, and milestone tracking

  • Coordinated with the Cargils marketing team to align branding and goals

  • Oversaw implementation of high-level game security to prevent cheating or hacking

  • Led user testing and deployment across devices and browsers

Security & Fair Play

The game offered high-value daily gifts, making it a target for hacking attempts. We implemented advanced security layers and anti-cheat mechanisms within Unity and on the server-side. Despite multiple attempts to exploit the system, no successful hacks were recorded, ensuring a fair gaming experience for all participants.
